Located near the charming medieval city of Mirepoix, Montségur, and the Pyrenees, l'OUSTAL AUX HIRONDELLES is the perfect central point for a stay in the Cathar Pyrenees.This simple yet comfortable cottage is situated in a tranquil and relaxing hamlet in Ariège. With approximately 140m² of space, it features a spacious living room-kitchen of around 30m², 4 bedrooms (sleeps 140), a bathroom, an outdoor courtyard, and a covered area for parking.
Just a 5-minute walk away, you'll find a village with an artisanal bakery that also sells groceries and newspapers. Plus, there's a river just 100m away.
From April to the end of October, we offer a warm welcome. Our rates vary depending on the number of rooms occupied. For up to 2 bedrooms, the rate is €300 per week. The cottage combines a functional layout with modern comforts, including amenities such as TV, dishwasher, washing machine, conventional and microwave ovens, and more. There's also a spacious fenced outdoor area where you can enjoy meals outside using the provided table and barbecue. Additionally, there's covered parking available for your vehicle.
In general, our farmhouse offers comfort and tranquility in the stunning Ariège Cathar Pyrenees region, known for its forests, mountains, history, and prehistory. Only 10 km away from Mirepoix, with its population of 3100, you'll find everything you need for your daily needs. Within a 50 km radius, there's a wide range of activities and attractions to explore, whether it's cultural or sports activities, natural wonders, medieval sites, or prehistoric sites.
Our location is convenient, with nearby towns such as Lavelanet, Pamiers, Foix, Tarascon, Carcassonne, St Girons, St Lizier, and Toulouse. And for those looking for a day trip, Andorra is just 1 hour and 30 minutes away, while the sea and Spain are a 2-hour drive.
Ariège offers numerous activities and leisure options that cater to all interests and ages. From natural sites and museums to local gastronomy and various other activities, there's something for everyone. Nearby attractions include the medieval city of Mirepoix with its impressive cathedral, the Rock Church of Vals, the Merovingian archaeological site of Tabariane, Pamiers, and the city of Gabriel Fauré. Within a 30-minute drive, you can visit the fortified village of Camon with its 400 rosebushes, Montbel Lake, the Castle of Foix, caves, the Underground River of Labouiche, the Prehistory Park, and hiking trails suitable for all levels.
