Description:

Description for B&B:

We are situated in Mesland, a delightful village nestled on the northern bank of the Loire river, between the towns of Blois and Amboise. Mesland is a popular stop along the renowned Loire Valley vineyards route and is conveniently located near the main "châteaux" attractions.

Our establishment, a former wine estate built in the mid-19th century, includes a stunning 1846 mansion, a tranquil park adorned with ancient trees, and the former stable and wine making facility. The last grape harvest took place in the Clos in 1955.

For relaxation and rejuvenation in between visits to the "châteaux," wine tastings, and walking or biking tours, our guests can enjoy our 14m swimming pool and comfortable deckchairs.

The Loire Valley has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers visitors breathtaking landscapes, from the untamed Loire river to expansive forests and majestic Royal Castles.

Mesland, our charming village, is located on the "Wine Road" and is surrounded by vineyards. Originally established as a Priory in the 12th century by monks from the Marmoutier Abbey, the village's Notre-Dame church still stands as a testament to its history. Mesland has even lent its name to the "Touraine-Mesland" category of Loire valley wines, which you can sample directly from the producers.

The Clos Sainte-Marie is perfectly situated near the most famous castles of the Loire Valley, including Château de Chaumont sur Loire with its international garden festival (7km), Château d'Amboise and the "Clos Lucé," former residence of Leonardo Da Vinci (19km), Château de Blois (23km), Château de Chenonceau (30km), Château de Cheverny (35km), and Château de Chambord (44km). We highly recommend using the Michelin green guide "Castles of the Loire" to navigate your visits to the region.

There are plenty of activities for children in the area, such as mini-castles in Amboise (20km), the Loire Valley Aquarium in Lussault-sur-Loire (23km), "Lulu Parc" for the little ones in Rochecorbon (36km), the Beaumarchais animal reservation with its "safari train" in Autrèche (11km), and the Beauval Zoo, home to over 4000 animals, in Saint-Aignan (40km).

In addition to castle visits, the region offers a wide range of activities, including wine tastings (we are happy to recommend local producers), hot air balloon flights over the Loire river and castles, traditional boat tours along the Loire, various walking and biking routes (we can assist with bike rentals), and horse riding at the Centre équestre du Val de Loire (16km).

For golf enthusiasts, there are several courses in the region, such as Golf de la Carte (10km, 18-hole), Golf de Fleuray-Amboise (10km, 9-hole), and Golf du Château de Cheverny (35km, 18-hole stretching over 6km).
