Description for B&B:

Our chambres d'hôtes, a traditional French guesthouse or bed and breakfast, is situated in the charming market town of Felletin, just a short 10-minute drive from Aubusson. Located in the department of La Creuse, within the Limousin Region, our guesthouse is perfectly positioned midway between Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand, making it an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Auvergne region, including popular destinations such as La Mont Dore and the Puy-de-Dôme.

The main house has undergone careful restoration while preserving its original features and incorporating carefully selected antique furniture. Primarily dating back to the 18th century, with the fireplace in chambre 1 bearing the carved date of 1761, parts of the building may even have origins that trace back further, as it is situated on the site of one of the four gates to the medieval fortified town.

We take pride in offering our guests traditional French chambres d'hôtes with a touch of luxury. Our rooms are spacious, beautiful, and equipped with ensuite facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay at reasonable prices. Additionally, we are pleased to provide delicious vegetarian evening meals upon request.

The cost for a one-night stay in either Chambre 1 or 2, accommodating one or two guests, is 50 Euros. Chambre 3 can be utilized as an apartment, complete with a kitchen and a large bathroom featuring a full-sized bath with a rain-shower. The price for Chambre 3 is 60 Euros with the kitchen or 50 Euros without.

For those who require extra beds, they can be provided for an additional charge of 10 Euros per bed per night. Breakfast is available at a rate of 6 Euros per person. Our vegetarian evening meals, consisting of three courses, cheese, and coffee, are priced at 20 Euros per person.

Felletin serves as the gateway to the picturesque plateau de Millevaches, surrounded by stunning countryside, forests, and lakes. La Creuse is a fantastic destination for nature enthusiasts, including walkers, cyclists, anglers, and photographers who can appreciate its year-round beauty. With its charming churches and other architectural wonders, Felletin offers plenty to explore without venturing far.

One of Felletin's unique features is its eau de source, a spring water that flows directly from the mountains. The town even brews its own beer using this pristine water in a local microbrewery, giving it a distinctive flavor. Every Friday, the town hosts a vibrant market, while in winter, a Christmas market takes place. During the summer months, a world music and dance festival adds to the lively atmosphere. Other special events include a book festival (journée du livre), a beer festival (fête de la bière), and the fête de Felletin.

The town square and its quaint cobbled streets offer everything you may need, including cafes, bars, restaurants, bakeries, pastry shops, two well-stocked supermarkets, banks, gift shops, and a tourist information office. There is also a larger supermarket located on the outskirts of town, which can be reached on foot.

Felletin is renowned for its tapestry, much like its neighboring town of Aubusson. Visitors can explore the famous Pinton factory, where the world-famous tapestry depicting Christ in Coventry Cathedral was produced. If you are seeking a chambres d'hôtes in Aubusson, we recommend trying 3 Place des Arbres, our luxurious guesthouse located just 10 kilometers away. It is the perfect place to stay.

The river Creuse flows through Felletin, offering a picturesque setting for enjoying evenings by the water, sipping champagne, and indulging in locally produced cheese on freshly baked French bread.

La Creuse is a truly wonderful destination, allowing you to experience the best of the Limousin region while being on the doorstep of Auvergne. Within an hour's drive, you can reach the breathtaking Puy de Dome, an area that is definitely worth a visit. Prepare to be captivated by its stunning beauty.
