Description:

Description for B&B:

Patricia and Erik are excited to invite you to their gite, l'Embellie Cathare. Formerly the residence of a winemaker, this vibrant Andalucian-inspired accommodation is available for stays of 1, 2, 3 days, or even a week or longer.

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to indulge in delightful dishes from the south-west region or request vegetarian options, all prepared with organic ingredients.

Situated in the charming village of Duilhac-sous-Peyrepertuse, home to just 104 residents, l'Embellie Cathare is nestled in the stunning Hautes Corbières region of France. This area has been influenced by the great civilizations of Europe, resulting in a rich history and captivating surroundings. Immerse yourself in the wild and beautiful Mediterranean scenery, adorned with ancient castles, exceptional wines, and refreshing natural spring water.

For a true exploration of the region, we highly recommend following the footsteps of the Cathars, who journeyed through these trails eight centuries ago.

As you traverse the area, you'll witness the awe-inspiring jagged silhouettes of the medieval castles of Peyrepertuse and Quéribus, as well as the enchanting forests of live oak, olive groves, wild fig trees, and aromatic herbs like thyme, rosemary, and lavender. A short distance away, you'll discover the pristine waters of the Agly River, cascading down to the mesmerizing Gorges de Galamus where the Hermitage awaits.

Upon your return to Duilhac, take a moment to unwind by the waterfalls and pools of the old mill below the village. Alternatively, savor local delicacies while enjoying some music.

There are a plethora of activities available nearby, including hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, river rafting, climbing, paragliding, quad bike rides, tours of the Cathar castles, and visits to museums and churches. Additionally, you can partake in wine and food tastings to fully immerse yourself in the local culture.
