Located at the peak of a hill within the picturesque Livradois-Forez natural park, often referred to as the Toscana of the Auvergne, is a charming 18th-century farmhouse that invites guests to unwind and engage in various activities. Nestled amidst a garden and a field utilized for haymaking, the property seamlessly merges with a nearby woodland. A gentle downward path leads to the nearby village of Vertolaye.Regardless of the season, La Faye offers an array of delightful walks in the enchanting surrounding forests. The expansive and cozy lounge provides a perfect space for relaxation. Weather permitting, meals are enjoyed either in the garden or the covered courtyard, with Table d'Hôte available three times a week. Each room is thoughtfully furnished with a washbowl, shower, and toilet. Guests can find amusement and enlightenment through the assortment of games, books, and literature showcasing local events and attractions. High-speed internet access is provided via ADSL WIFI. Additionally, a Jacuzzi is nestled within the garden.
La Faye caters to various recreational pursuits, including swimming, paragliding, hang gliding, horseback riding, mountain climbing, tree-to-tree obstacle courses, rafting, canoeing, as well as alpine and cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing across three nearby ski resorts. To reach Vertolaye from Thiers, follow these directions:
1. After passing Olliergues, you will see a sign indicating Vertolaye.
2. Continue a little further and you will come across a junction on your left with a sign for Vertolaye Centre.
3. Do not take the road to the center. Instead, look for a small road between two houses on your left, which has a sign for La Faye.
4. Take this road, as it is quite steep.
5. When you reach a T-crossing, turn right and then immediately turn left, following the sign for La Faye.
6. This part of the road becomes even steeper.
7. Near the top, you will see a small farm on your right, with a cross. The house on the left, with a small front yard, is your destination.
8. Look for the recognizable glass logo on the house.
