Our corner of paradise has captivated us for over 30 years. Creysseilles offers stunning mountain scenery, charming stone hamlets, and the genuine hospitality of its people. In 1985, we acquired this nearly ruined farm, which we have lovingly restored. Perched on a ledge 700 meters above sea level, our one-hectare property provides a peaceful retreat for a night's rest or a few days of relaxation. Enjoy the breathtaking views and explore the hiking trails in Creysseilles and the neighboring towns. Our property is enchanting in every season, from the blossoming spring and golden autumn to the refreshing pool and crackling fireplace in summer and winter, respectively. Breakfasts and dinners, prepared by the lady of the house, are served in the dining room with its charming old stable arches or on the terrace during the summer months.

We are delighted to welcome guests from May 1, 2013, and share our love for this corner of Ardèche. Martine and Jean-Paul Marchal, along with our pets Allie and Mia (dogs), and Chestnut, Chatra, and Saddle (cats).

The farmhouse, believed to date back to the seventeenth century, has been expanded over time to meet the needs of its residents. It consists of three interconnected buildings, vaulted living quarters, a covered porch, a bread oven, and a gated courtyard. The walls have been lowered to maximize the view and provide access to the pool. The one-hectare property features meadows, moors, and a restored garden with a spring-fed pond.

Nearby activities include hiking and biking along the network of trails and low-traffic roads surrounding the property. Within an hour or two, you can visit attractions such as the Cave of the Huguenots, an ancient stone-carved tomb, the church, the watchtower with its 360° view, and the volcano Chirouze. We provide maps and guides of the area and are happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. For those who prefer to explore by car, Privas is 15 minutes away, Aubenas is 30 minutes away, Antraigues is 45 minutes away, Vallon Pont d'Arc is 1 hour away, and Mont Gerbier de Jonc is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Food enthusiasts can indulge in local delicacies such as Privas chestnuts from Clement Faugier, charcuterie specialties (stomachs, hams, dried mountain sausages), goat cheese (including the famous picodons), and red and white Côtes du Rhône wines (Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay, Viognier, etc.).

Appréciations pour Les Chambres du Clair, Creysseilles:

Une semaine sereine et sympathique
Review by: Josette, Sep 20 2016 1:21PM
