Description for B&B:
St. Jeanvrin is a quaint town located in the southern region of Bourges, Cher, which happens to be the ancestral hometown of the family. The house was given its name as a tribute to their deep-rooted connection to the area. The name "Jeanvrin" is a local variation of Januarius, derived from St. Januarius of Naples. St. Januarius, a bishop and martyr from Naples, is one of the fifty revered patrons chosen by the people of Naples. Throughout history, he has been known to protect the city from various calamities. Notably, he offered his safeguard against the plague in 1497, 1631, 1698, 1767, and 1779, preventing potential devastation caused by the eruption of Vesuvius.
One of the well-known miracles associated with St. Januarius is the transformation of his blood. For over 600 years, his solid blood miraculously turns into liquid three times annually within the Cathedral of Naples.
