Description for Gite
Welcome to "Le Matelot & La Normande," a charming apartment named after its beautiful Norman cupboard, a treasured family heirloom passed down through generations. The apartment boasts a sailor chic decor and vintage buttons, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. With an abundance of natural light, this 33 m2 apartment can comfortably accommodate 2-3 people. The layout consists of a spacious living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a Norman wardrobe dresser serving as a table and three chairs, and a bed (70 * 190) suitable for a child or adult during the day.
The apartment also features a cozy 9 m2 bedroom with a double bed (140 * 190) and a 7 m2 bathroom furnished with an old desk that holds a basin, a large mirror, a shower, a toilet, a hairdryer, and a wardrobe.
The decor combines traditional elements, such as bourgeois moldings and dark wood furniture, with chic marine accessories and vintage items from the 50s and 60s. Soft shades of blue, gray, white, and linen create a serene ambiance, while beautiful parquet floors, seagrass in the bedroom, and a painted floor in the bathroom add character. Marine objects and books are tastefully placed throughout the apartment.
The windows provide ample natural light, with the living room and bedroom facing south and offering a view of a small square with a nearby grocery store. The shower room overlooks the Halley alley, featuring cathedral glass windows. Some residents park their vehicles on this site.
In addition to "Le Matelot & La Normande," we also offer "The Loft Seaman," a unique 32m2 studio with sloping ceilings, exposed beams, and a glass bathroom. The contemporary industrial decor, complete with jugs and nautical elements, adds to the studio's charm.
This studio is designed for two people and includes a fully equipped kitchen area with black mosaic tiles and a former industrial cloakroom repurposed as a dresser. The dining area features a table and two high chairs, while the sleeping area offers a king-size bed (160 * 200). The shower room is enclosed by a canopy and includes a large tiled shower, an old wooden bench with a basin, a toilet, and a hairdryer.
The decor combines shades of white, pale gray, taupe, black, and wood, creating a soothing and contemporary ambiance. Antique furniture, flea market finds, and industrial elements are tastefully incorporated. Marine objects and books are also available for guests to enjoy.
The studio features two large velux windows, one in the bedroom area and one in the kitchen area, fitted with blinds and sunshades. Guests can enjoy views of the sky, rooftops, and the Virgin fires. A small skylight brightens the bathroom, while a dog sitting area offers a unique perspective overlooking the rooftops.
