Exclusively reserved for our guests, the former washhouse of the château of Joreau offers spacious rooms (>25 m²) with high exposed roof beams and tasteful antique furnishings. Each room features an impeccable private shower room and toilet. In addition to your room, you will have access to a large lounge with English, French, and German libraries, a hall filled with tourist information, and a private entry and garden.

Wake up refreshed after a peaceful night's sleep surrounded by nature and indulge in a delicious breakfast served in the lounge overlooking the park. In the afternoon, take advantage of the tranquil surroundings of Joreau to relax and unwind. Enjoy reading a book, savoring fruits from the orchard, or taking a nap in the hammock under a majestic old tree.

For dinner, choose from the delightful nearby restaurants or stay at Joreau, where we offer a gourmet-plate with wine and coffee by prior arrangement, or the use of our basic kitchen facility in the lounge. Our ensuite room, "Cremant de Loire," is perfect for a relaxed family holiday, featuring one double and one twin room with a private shower room. "Saumur Champigny," on the other hand, offers a spacious 26 m² area, where you can feel at home. The comfortable beds, which can be arranged as a king size or two singles, ensure a restful night's sleep. The tastefully decorated room includes an antique wardrobe and two armchairs. The private bathroom with separate toilet has been recently renovated.

Description for Gite

The Farm of Joreau is a charming holiday home that provides modern comfort and a cosy atmosphere, while still showcasing traditional architecture with features such as touffe stone, slate, terra cotta tiles, old wood parquet, and ceiling. Perfect for 4-5 people, this house has undergone a complete renovation in May 2006.

Step outside onto the spacious south-facing terrace, where you can relax on the comfortable garden furniture and enjoy a barbecue. Additionally, you have access to a private 800 m² garden that overlooks the beautiful woods. Your children will have a blast playing in the sandbox and on the swing, while you unwind with a glass of wine.

Upon entering the house, you will find a welcoming living room with a fireplace. Adjacent to this is the dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs, under the charming roof, you will discover two bedrooms (one double bed measuring 160*200 cm and one twin bed measuring 80*200 cm) and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Rest assured that the beds will be made up for you upon arrival. A baby cot and high chair can be provided upon request, and firewood is available free of charge.

Located in the delightful village of Gennes, on the Loire River's border, this gîte is conveniently situated just 15 km (<10 miles) from Saumur and Doué-la-Fontaine, and 30 km (<20 miles) from Angers. There are shopping facilities less than 1 km (0.5 miles) away, which are open seven days a week.

Being nestled in the heart of the regional nature reserve "Loire-Anjou-Touraine," this house serves as an ideal base for exploring cultural, gastronomic, and nature-related attractions suitable for all ages. Hikers and cyclists will particularly appreciate the Domaine de Joreau's location, as it sits directly on the long-distance path GR3 and the Loire Valley bike trail.

Découvert pas hasard sur Internet, nous y retournons chaque année depuis 2008 pour un court séjour. C'est un endroit vraiment agréable, tant par le lieu, le confort et l'accueil, où il n'y a jamais rien à redire. Si vous passez par là, n'hésitez pas une minute.

Wir haben mit unseren Kindern 2 wunderschöne Tage bei Fam. Schewe verbracht. Der Empfang ist ganz persönlich, Frau Schewe hat uns sehr gute Tipps zum Weinkauf gegeben und die Kinder hatten sofort Anschluss.
Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll ausgestattet, das Frühstück eine schöne Mischung aus franz. und dt. Art und der Garten lädt einfach zum Entspannen ein.

Directions

To get to your destination, take the A85 highway and take exit number 1 for "Beaufort-en-vallée". From there, follow the signs for "Les Rosiers-sur-Loire". Once you reach Gennes, take the D69 road towards "Doué-la-Fontaine". At the third roundabout, make a left turn and continue following the signs for "Chambre d’hôtes" for the next 500 meters.
