The Main House

The Maison de l'Orchidee is a historic Vignernon house dating back to the 1700s. While preserving its original charm, the main facilities have been updated to meet modern standards for a comfortable bed and breakfast experience. The presence of wooden doors and skirtings adds to the sense of history that permeates the building. With central heating in all rooms, the house is perfect for breaks during the later seasons. The loft space has been insulated with half a meter thickness, ensuring a cozy atmosphere during winter months. This is especially delightful in October and November, when the autumn colors create a picturesque setting. Returning to a warm room and enjoying a complimentary mug of hot chocolate or Coca (available only during winter bookings from November to March) adds to the overall comfort. The thick construction of the walls helps to maintain a pleasant temperature throughout the year, keeping the house cool in summer and retaining warmth in winter. Additionally, all bedroom suites are equipped with large ceiling fans to circulate air during hot summer nights, ensuring a restful sleep.
