Description for B&B:
The village of Morey can be found in the town of BELLEAU, perched 305 meters above sea level on the side of the Natagne valley, spanning from the east to the west side of the Moselle rating in the Massif of the great Romanesque couronné. There is a twelfth-century church dedicated to St. Peter, and the population consists of about a hundred villagers known as the wolves. Morey Castle, originally built in the twelfth century on the remains of a Templars monastery, was owned by various lords throughout history. In the seventeenth century, it became the property of JEHAN TOULON Nomeny, and later on, Brassel JOLY MOREY and George (writer) DUCROCQ succeeded as owners. Unfortunately, in 1985, the castle was destroyed by fire and left abandoned, with only four walls remaining. However, with great courage and determination, the current owners have managed to transform the ruins into five guest rooms, creating a beautiful setting surrounded by nature. The property boasts a large garden protected by a wall over five meters high, adorned with chestnut, cedar of Lebanon, lime, copper beeches, oaks, maple trees, and a duck pond.Reviews
