Description:

Description for B&B:

As Dutch individuals, we are fluent in English, French, and German, so please feel free to reach out to us in your native language.

Located at 21 Rue des Halles, across from the Council House in the charming oyster harbor village of Mornac sur Seudre, stands the former residence of the Mayor. The architect, Jean Buneau, from the nearby fashionable seaside resort of Royan, designed this impressive Charentais townhouse. Its architecture, reminiscent of 19th century Paris, stands in stark contrast to the picturesque Celtic fishing village of Mornac.

With its carved stone exterior, the building exudes elegance with a touch of shabby chic, a quality that the current owners take pride in preserving.

The Courtyard
A delightful walled courtyard awaits at the back of the house, where, weather permitting, a generous breakfast is served at a long table under a large parasol. This enchanting space also serves as a lovely setting for pre-dinner cocktails.

The Pool
Discreetly tucked away in the corner of the courtyard, there is a small swimming pool, perfect for a refreshing dip whenever desired.

The Tea Garden
Just across the pathway at the rear of the house lies a charming tea garden. In May, the mature cherry tree is abundant with luscious cherries, providing welcome shade throughout the summer. The classic garden furniture invites guests to relax and enjoy a delightful afternoon tea.

The Dining Room
For the occasional days when the weather doesn't allow for outdoor breakfast, the stylish Salle à Manger offers a cozy alternative. Furnished with a nod to Monsieur Rouffineau's intended style, it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Library
Our well-stocked bookshelves house an extensive selection of reading material and informative resources in multiple languages. La Bibliothèque also serves as a space for board games and card evenings, and the piano is available for accomplished amateurs to play.

Notre séjour a mornac
Review by: Famille charlet, Aou 13 2023 11:28AM
