Description for B&B:
The Domaine de Blacons is a charming family home that perfectly combines simplicity and elegance, creating a timeless atmosphere. We are deeply committed to preserving this property, which has been in our family for generations. Additionally, we are passionate about sharing our love for the breathtaking Drome Valley region, carrying on an adventure that our parents began almost four decades ago.Nestled in the heart of the Drome Valley, between the majestic Vercors and Provence, this 17th century residence showcases the region's distinctive architectural style. Set on sloping terrain, the property consists of two main buildings. We extend a warm welcome to our guests, making them feel at home throughout the year. Surrounded by three hectares of lush gardens, filled with the soothing sounds of chirping crickets, our estate offers a tranquil escape in a naturally beautiful setting. During the renovations from 2010 to 2013, we prioritized ecological materials in line with our commitment to environmental consciousness.
We are dedicated to fulfilling the desires of our guests and strive to share our own experiences of what makes this area so special. As a starting point for exploration, the domaine is ideally situated for discovering the wonders of the Drome. Nature enthusiasts will find endless opportunities for outdoor activities such as watersports along the River Drome or in the Roanne valley. Paragliding, horse riding, mountain biking, and nature trails are abundant, while the nearby sloping forests of Saou appeal to walkers and climbers. Mirabel-et-Blacons itself serves as a gateway to the Regional Natural Park of the Vercors and the Valley of Gervanne, showcasing breathtaking waterfalls, stunning cliffs, and verdant landscapes. The region's exceptional biodiversity is a result of its favorable climate and sustainable agricultural practices. As the first department to be designated "Bio de France," the Drome boasts exceptional markets where visitors can discover and savor high-quality local products. For history enthusiasts, a visit to the medieval tower of Crest and the picturesque mountain villages is highly recommended, as these areas are renowned for their artistic and artisanal creations.
