Chatellerault itself is a great stopover destination or a starting point for longer journeys. It is only one hour and twenty minutes away from Paris by TGV or three hours by highway (A10). Additionally, it is just a twenty-minute drive from popular attractions such as the Futuroscope, a multimedia and cinematographic theme park, the thermal hydrotherapy center of La Roche-Posay, the medieval castle "Chateau des Aigles" in Chauvigny featuring eagle shows, and the beautiful St Cyr Golf overlooking a picturesque lake. Furthermore, most of the renowned Renaissance-style castles, including Chambord, Chenonceau, and Amboise, are easily accessible within one to one and a half hours.
