Perfect for family reunions and large gatherings, this spacious detached house, formerly a hotel and restaurant, accommodates 5 couples, each with their own en-suite shower and WC. Additional children and other individuals can be comfortably accommodated in single beds.The well-equipped professional kitchen includes 2 ovens, 2 hobs, 2 fridge-freezers, a microwave, and 2 dishwashers, along with cooking utensils, a kettle, and a filter coffee machine. You'll find crockery, cutlery, and glassware for multiple place settings, as well as various seating areas and a comfortable dining space for all guests, with enough room for dancing as well!
All equipment, bedding, towels, and fuel are included in the price, offering excellent value at well under €25 per person per night. There is ample off-road parking for 6-8 vehicles in a peaceful setting just 3 km from a small tourist town with shops and supermarkets.
The minimum stay is 3 nights, making it perfect for a long weekend, though reservations are accepted for any 3 consecutive days. This is a private residence available for occasional private rentals. The owner will personally welcome guests upon arrival, provide an overview of the facilities, and collect the keys at the end of their stay. He will be easily reachable throughout your visit.

Great four day break
Stayed at Le Campagnard while visiting the area. Teresa & Alan Bretman made us very welcome and helped with our sightseeing issues. All four of us (two rooms) slept very well, the rooms have all you need. We enjoyed the breakfast and we also ate in on two occasions and Teresa is a great chef.

Nous nous étions arrêtés pour une simple escale,finalement nous avons fait une rencontre.Teresa et Alan sont des personnes adorables,totalement vouées au bien-être de leurs hôtes.La cuisine est raffinée et copieuse et la propreté des lieux irréprochable.Un sans faute.
Great place to stay!
I've stayed with Alan & Teresa twice now. The first time I was on my own and the second time I came with my family. The two hosts were just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. They provided advice on many, many things French, whilst I was there and were really flexible with the lovely meals as I am a fussy eater. My room was fresh, clean and very comfortable with all the amenities provided. On my visit with the family we had a family room which again was excellent with everything we needed. Alan and Teresa treated us if they had known us for years and we all appreciated that. We are planning another trip to that part of France and will try and spend at least one night with Alan and Teresa.

The breakfast and evening meal were sumptuous, my room very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for the kind hosts.

Directions
1. Start your journey by heading from Rochechouart towards La Rochefoucauld.
2. When you reach the bottom of the hill, make a right turn towards Babaudus. Be aware that this road is narrow and has several tight bends.
3. As you continue, you will notice the Castle on your right-hand side.
4. Keep driving for about 500 meters until you pass an old Gallo-Roman Arch on your right.
5. After another 400 meters, you will come across an old Gothic bridge that you need to cross.
6. Proceed on this road as it ascends a hill with numerous tight turns. Once you reach the top, the road will level out for approximately 300 meters until you reach an intersection.
7. Take the right turn at the intersection and continue for about 100 meters until you see the sign indicating your entry into Babaudus. Afterward, take the second left turn, marked by the sign for Grand Rue de Babaudus.
8. Follow the road as it veers right and then left. On your left, you will spot Le Campagnard, which is the first building. Look out for the sign indicating our Reception and Car Park, which is the next left turn.
