Description for B&B:

We offer two delightful B&B studios with picturesque garden views. These studios are fully equipped with private bathrooms and convenient kitchenettes, perfect for those who prefer self-catering. Guests can choose to enjoy their breakfast either in the comfort of their own room or in the main house. Each studio can comfortably accommodate couples, two couples, or families of four, featuring a double bed on a raised mezzanine level and a sofa bed on the ground floor. With their charming design and tranquil atmosphere, these studios are ideal for short stays of one or two nights, or even for a week-long getaway.

Our B&B guests are welcome to take pleasure in the beauty of our gardens, relax by the swimming pool, and make use of our tea and coffee making facilities. Additionally, we offer the option of home-cooked meals through our table d’hôte service, which requires advance booking. Our breakfasts consist of freshly baked bread and croissants from the local village bakery, served with delightful homemade jams, along with a selection of refreshing juices, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. We provide off-street and garage parking facilities, catering to cars, bicycles, and even the occasional horse!

Description for Gite

Our gite, originally built as a watermill in the late 18th century, is highly regarded as one of the best equipped and strategically located accommodations in the region. We firmly believe that it should be enjoyed rather than left vacant, which is why we have personally lived in it and paid meticulous attention to every detail.

Whether you are a couple, a family, or a group of up to six people, our gite is an ideal holiday destination. Its versatility comes from its spacious kitchen, bathroom, living room (featuring a cozy alcove bed), separate twin bedroom, and the breathtaking grenier that occupies the entire top floor. Staying here will make you feel like you are experiencing grandeur without the hefty price tag. It's truly difficult to leave!

The interior space is complemented by a terrace that overlooks our two-acre gardens, nature reserve, streams, and the picturesque surrounding fields. It is the perfect spot to observe the abundant bird and wildlife, enjoy a refreshing cold beer or a glass of rosé, and watch the children play in the garden. The tranquil old millstream encircles the gite, providing a soothing acoustic backdrop that ensures a great night's sleep.

There is an abundance of activities to engage in within the immediate area, ranging from kayaking and yoga to fishing, walking, and cycling. While it is impossible to list them all here, we recommend visiting our website or getting in touch with us for the latest information. Additionally, we are excited to announce that for 2015, we have added a large children's playground on the mill island, complete with swings, a slide, a climbing tower, and a rope ladder.

Directions

The gite and BB are situated in Chantegrolle, Charroux, 86250. It is approximately a one-hour drive from both Poitiers and Limoges. Depending on the direction you are coming from, we are either the first or last house in the village of Charroux. You will easily recognize the gite if you have seen the pictures on our website.

If you are traveling from La Havre or Caen, it will take you around six hours to reach Charroux. However, with stops, the journey from Calais usually takes closer to eight hours.

For those who prefer not to drive in France, we offer a minibus service to collect visitors from Poitiers and Limoges airports. Some guests also choose to travel by Eurostar, changing in Paris and arriving at Poitiers train station, where we can arrange to pick them up.

If you have any questions before your holiday, please feel free to email or call Chris or Lucy.
