The PLESSIS BELLEVUE MANOR, located in Saumur in the Loire Valley, is a historic eighteenth-century residence with a strong connection to the renowned poet, playwright, novelist, and politician Victor Hugo. It was the home of his close friend and personal physician, Emile Leon-Allix. Victor Hugo himself stayed at the manor multiple times.Recently renovated by Alain Nicolas and Veronique Coquema, the BELLEVUE MANOR PLESSIS has been transformed into a charming guest house that perfectly combines comfort and the French way of life. The manor boasts a beautiful landscaped garden and a heated swimming pool with breathtaking views of Saumur and the Loire River.
The main house offers five historical-style suites, each equipped with modern comforts such as a private bathroom with either a bath or shower, WiFi, a safe, satellite TV, and a flat-screen television. Additionally, there is a spacious lounge with a library and a large dining room.
The COTTAGE, a fully equipped backwood Gite de France, features a comfortable living room and three bedrooms, including one that is handicap accessible, with bathrooms that include both a bath and a shower.
The FLAG VICTOR HUGO houses a billiard room with a French balcony and an impressive Eiffel staircase that offers stunning views of the Loire River. This area also includes a designated smoking area with a cellar for cigars, making it suitable for small receptions or events. There is also access to a cellar carved into the rock, known as The Den BACCHUS.
The FLAG Plantagenets is equipped with an indoor fitness spa that includes a jacuzzi, a massage room, and a ping pong table. This area also showcases paintings by contemporary masters.
The PLESSIS BELLEVUE MANOR is the perfect venue for hosting local and intimate events in its beautifully landscaped gardens. Whether it be weddings, birthdays, private seminars, or other special occasions, the manor provides an exquisite setting.
