The Logis de l’Astrée, located between Saintes and Cognac, is a charming 17th Century nobleman’s house that welcomes guests year-round. With its original austere style, typical of the Saintonge region, this house exudes warmth and harmony. The serene atmosphere and expansive open spaces make it an ideal place for relaxation. Guests can unwind in the sitting-room/library or enjoy the beautiful garden surrounded by vineyards. The property also features a swimming pool nestled among the woods and vineyards.

The Logis de l’Astrée offers the perfect opportunity to experience the rich offerings of the Saintonge region, including the stunning Atlantic coast, the renowned spirit of Cognac, Romanesque architecture, and the vibrant festivals held in the nearby towns of Saintes and Cognac throughout the year.

For seven generations, the Logis de l’Astrée has been owned by a family of winemakers, and since 2000, it has been a thriving wine-producing estate. Guests have the opportunity to taste the family’s Cognac, Pineau des Charentes, and Vin de Pays.

Each guest room at the Logis de l’Astrée possesses its own unique character, while still reflecting the elegant and grand ambiance of the house.

Description for Gite

The gîte is situated in the old servants' quarters, providing a sense of independence while still being connected to the surrounding property. It has its own private garden and secure access to the swimming pool. The gîte has been awarded 3 épis by Gîtes de France.

La Petite Maison offers comfortable and traditional holiday accommodation for 2-3 people. The sitting room features a plain fireplace and potager, typical of simple houses from the period. The bedroom on the mezzanine floor overlooks the sitting room. The separate kitchen and bathroom are tiled in terra cotta. The lime-washed walls and linen furnishings create a cozy and homely atmosphere. The private garden is perfect for relaxation before a swim. Bed linen and towels are provided, and television is available upon request.

La Maison des Chênes is located in the dependences of the south outer wall of the Logis de l'Astrée. It faces a surrounding wood, offering a peaceful environment and complete independence. The gîte has two rooms, each with a private bathroom, and a total surface area of approximately 100 m². It can accommodate a family of 4-5 people.

The spacious living room opens onto a private garden equipped with garden furniture and a barbecue. A pathway leads to the swimming pool of the property. Bed linen and bathroom towels are supplied.

The gîte is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and iron. ADSL Internet access is available at the reception of the Logis de l'Astrée.

Parking is available close to the gîte, with access through the garden. The Maison des Chênes is accessible for handicapped individuals.

Directions

To get to the Logis de l'Astrée from Saintes, follow these directions:

1. Start by taking the N141 road towards Cognac.
2. After a while, make a left turn onto the D134 road, which leads to Saint Sauvant and Saint Bris des Bois.
3. Continue on the D134 road through the village of Saint Bris, and then make a left turn towards Brizambourg.
4. As you exit the village, you will come across the Logis de l'Astrée, located next to the cemetery.
