Description:

Description for B&B:

Whether you're searching for a new home, enjoying a peaceful vacation, or just passing through, you won't find a better location, amenities, or quality of accommodation than at Les Bruyeres in Verteuil sur Charente. This business is currently for sale, so please contact the owners for more information.

As you drive through the beautiful Charente countryside, filled with sunflower fields and sweetcorn, you may stumble upon the charming village of Verteuil, just a five-minute drive south of the bustling market town of Ruffec. The village is nestled along the banks of the River Charente, with the impressive 15th-century chateau overlooking the tranquil streets. Verteuil also offers three cafe/bars, two restaurants, bakeries, butcher shops, a tabac/general store, and a pharmacy.

Entrance and courtyard:
Upon entering through the large farm gates, you'll find yourself in a private courtyard surrounded by high walls. In the summer, the courtyard is adorned with beautiful hanging baskets and flower arrangements. At the back of the courtyard, there is an open barn with secure, covered parking for up to six cars.

Accommodation:
Our converted barn offers three spacious and en-suite bedrooms, as well as a communal kitchen dining area. The barn retains many of its original features, such as exposed beams and dressed Charantaise stone, giving it a unique and charming atmosphere. All rooms are equipped with central heating for your comfort.

Bedrooms:
Each of the three bedrooms features an en-suite bathroom with a shower, hand washbasin, and toilet. Additionally, every room is furnished with ample wardrobe and drawer storage, English to French electric adapters, a hairdryer, and a radio/CD alarm. Rooms are serviced daily, including a towel change if desired. We also provide shampoo/shower gel and soap. If needed, we can accommodate a baby cot or additional camp bed in any of the three rooms.

Ground floor family room:
This room offers a double bed, two wardrobes, and a sitting area with comfortable chairs, a coffee table, and a sofa that can be converted into a double bed for families.

First-floor double rooms (x2):
One room is furnished with a double and a single bed, while the other room features a double bed. Both rooms include a dressing table, comfortable chairs, and built-in wardrobes.

Dining kitchen:
We understand the importance of having kitchen facilities, even when staying in a bed and breakfast. That's why we have included a fully equipped kitchen for the exclusive use of our guests. In the kitchen, you'll find a four-ring electric hob and oven, microwave oven, fridge, kettle, coffee percolator, slow cooker, toaster, steamer, and a full set of pots, pans, casseroles, and utensils. We also provide crockery, glasses, and cutlery. The dining table can seat up to eight people. Feel free to help yourself to complimentary tea and coffee at any time. The dining kitchen area also offers English TV with all FreeView channels, a wide selection of board games and videos, as well as information on local attractions and dining options. WIFI internet access is available in all rooms. Additionally, we have a separate laundry room with washing, drying, and ironing facilities if needed.

If you're in the area to search for a new home, we are more than willing to share our knowledge and answer any questions you may have about the buying and renovation process, as well as integrating into French life (such as healthcare, taxes, and French language courses). If you're simply looking for a relaxing break, we are here to provide advice on local attractions and places to visit.

Sun Terrace and Garden:
The French doors in the kitchen lead out onto an east-facing sun terrace with a covered gazebo, perfect for enjoying your breakfast in the morning sunshine during the summer months. The lawned garden features a pergola walkway around three sides and enjoys sunlight from early morning until late afternoon.

Appréciations pour Les Bruyeres, Verteuil sur Charente:

TR3 recalcitrante..!!!!

Excellente adresse
Lovely !

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while looking for a house to buy Fabulous location overlooking the Charente. To have a full kitchen at ones disposal in a B&B is rare and very much appreciated. We were given lots of useful information regarding the area and before we left had bought a house in the village. Thank you Adam and Jan for such an enjoyable comfortable stay.

Unobtrusive hosts Jan and Adam were welcoming, friendly and informative. A relaxed and laid-back manner is the signature of their business. On-site parking was important to us as was the proximity of the property to the attractive centre of Verteuil. A three or four minute walk across two little bridges spanning the Charente river and you're there! Our accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many guests return to Les Bruyeres time and again and my wife and I will be following suit. Highly recommended.
parfait !
