Our beautiful guest house is full of character and located in the heart of the historic center of Florence. Locanda Gallo is situated in the Quartiere San Lorenzo, one of the most important historical sectors in the city.Housed in a traditional Florentine building, Locanda Gallo offers a truly authentic experience with a small entrance and charming staircase. We recently renovated our rooms and reception in September 2007.
Our accommodations include a reception area where guests can use our complimentary computer with internet access. We have two four-bed private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, two triple private rooms with ensuite bathrooms (one with a kitchen corner), and three double private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and kitchen corners. All of our rooms are sunny, clean, and newly furnished. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, TV, free Wi-Fi, and air-conditioning. Guests are provided with their own set of keys and there is no curfew, allowing you to come and go as you please. For longer stays, our double rooms with kitchen corners are the perfect choice.
Locanda Gallo offers the ideal combination of courtesy, cleanliness, good services, and a central location. We pride ourselves on providing the best prices in Florence. Our experienced and courteous staff will ensure you have a memorable stay in Florence. If you are looking for a standard, anonymous, or ordinary place, Locanda Gallo is not for you.
Please note that our guest house is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor and there is no elevator. We offer additional services such as TV with digital channels, fax service, room service (upon request), linen hand towels, kitchen corners in the studios, hairdryers (upon request), availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (only available in some rooms), booking of museum tickets, bicycle rental, city maps, cell phone rental, free Wi-Fi in all rooms, cleaning service (from 10:00am to 12:00pm), personal safes, garage parking for an extra fee of 15 euros per day, bike rental, and a partnership with local restaurants.

Our location is extremely convenient, as the Central Railway Station is just a 15-minute walk away. From there, you can easily explore Florence and visit nearby attractions, such as:

From Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci in Florence, take the shuttle to Santa Maria Novella train station. From there, it's a 10-15 minute walk. Head towards via Nazionale, continue on via XXV aprile, turn right, and walk until you reach Via S. Gallo. We are located at number 73.
By Train:
From Stazione Santa Maria Novella, you can reach us on foot in just 10-15 minutes. Take the left exit towards Piazza Adua. Walk along via Nazionale, continue on via XXV aprile, turn right, and proceed until you reach Via S. Gallo. Once you're on Via San Gallo, turn left and look for number 73. We are "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If you're coming from the north, Pisa, or highways A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova, exit at Firenze Nord and follow the signs for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, then left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. We are "Locanda Gallo."
If you're coming from the south, Siena (SS22), or highway A1 Roma-Napoli, exit at Firenze Sud and follow the signs for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, turn left at the first traffic light and continue on Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico. At the first light, turn left onto Via Poliziano. At the next traffic light, cross the street and stay on the right, taking Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. We are "Locanda Gallo."
